Montgomery Parks

Volunteer at Montgomery County Parks

Scouts interested in a conservation project should go to www.ParksVolunteers.org to find projects at our beautiful parks.

Here is a message from Ms. Lynn Vismara of M-NCPPC, Montgomery Parks, Volunteer Coordinator.

Thanks so much for your interest in organizing a group project in Montgomery Parks – and for wanting to help out!  If someone in Montgomery Parks asked you to fill out an application, please let me know who it was, and I will make sure that they get a copy of it and get in touch with you.

Or, if you were just checking out to see what we have available, depending upon the size & agelocation and availability of your group AND availability our staff, we typically set up groups like yours with projects that could include:
·        Park Cleanups
·        Invasive Plant Removal (Weed Warriors!)
·        Natural Surface Trail Work
·        Nature Centers Projects
·        Special Event assistance
·        Planting native plants
·        Gardening/Weeding/Mulching
·        Playground Maintenance
Let me know if any of those projects sounds interesting to you (although some may not be available due to staff prior commitments or time of year)!  And please provide the information in bold above when you respond to help with the planning.

Thanks again for your group’s interest in helping out the environment and for wanting to do it in Montgomery Parks!

I look forward to working with you on setting up a project with your Group.  Please feel free to call or email me at your convenience.
