Merit Badge Procedures

To search for active Merit Badge Counselors:

  1. Visit Scoutbook.com
  2. Click MB Counselor List
  3. Choose the badges you wish to search
  4. Search by First Name, Last Name, or Zip Code
  5. Contact information will be included in search results

 

To register as a new Merit Badge Counselor:

  1. Complete Youth Protection Training 
            a.    If simply adding badges or if already a registered leader with your unit or if you have a current YPT, this step is NOT required; YPT is already on file
  2. Complete the BSA app online at https://my.scouting.org/VES/OnlineReg/1.0.0/?tu=UF-MB-082ws43
    a. If not already a unit leader, complete a NEW application
    b. If already a unit leader, complete a MULTIPLE application
    c. If already a registered DISTRICT leader (e.g. District Committee, Commissioner…), cannot use this online application, must complete paper application

  3. Complete MBC Information Form at https://filestore.scouting.org/filestore/pdf/34405.pdf.
    a.    Email to wsdmeritbadge@gmail.com
    b.    Electronic signatures are preferred, but not required, to save a step

To add badges to an existing Merit Badge Counselor registration:

  1. Complete MBC Information Form at https://filestore.scouting.org/filestore/pdf/34405.pdf.
    a. Email to wsdmeritbadge@gmail.com
    b. Electronic signatures are preferred, but not required, to save a step
