The Potomac District holds special fundraising events annually. These include Montgomery Area events with the other districts such as the Montgomery Area Good Scout Dinner.
This past year, the Montgomery Area awarded Lifetime Achievement Awards to Scouters John McGovern, of Troop 457 in Rockville, and John Hanson, former Area Vice President of Scouting in Montgomery County.
