Support Scouting Through Workplace Giving
The National Capital Area Council is generously supported by almost every United Way within the territory of our Council’s service district, spanning across Northern Virginia, Washington, D.C. and Maryland. United Way donors have supported and contributed to our mission of improving the lives of boys and girls for many decades. We are thankful for our long-standing partnerships with Rappahannock United Way, Piedmont United Way, United Way of Frederick County, United Way of St. Mary’s County, United Way of Calvert County and United Way of Charles County.
We are also a proud member of Community First – America’s Charities of Greater Washington, D.C.America’s Charities’ local federation, Community 1st, addresses a diverse range of social concerns and needs here in the Greater Washington, D.C. area and surrounding communities and supports some of the community’s best loved and most respected charities, including Catholic Charities, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Make A Wish, and Habitat for Humanity. Organized in 1980 by a handful of charities looking for a better way to engage donors in workplace philanthropy, America’s Charities believes in donor choice, transparency, growing philanthropy, and being good stewards of donor dollars.
If your gift is more than $230, we do have recognition items that can be sent to you if desired. Please send an email indicating your CFC gift, desire for the patch, and your name, address, city, state, and ZIP to SupportScouting@NCACBSA.org

Matching Gifts & Volunteer Hours
Workplace giving campaigns allow a donor to make a contribution to the charity of his/her choice through their place of work. This can be done through a one-time donation, re-occurring payroll deductions, matching gifts or volunteer hours. In many cases, corporations will match gifts that are made by employees to the National Capital Area Council, Boy Scouts of America. Some companies even give financial contributions on behalf of the time you give as a volunteer. This means that for each hour you volunteer, your employer may donate money to the Scouts! Of note: gifts cannot be designated or passed onto specific individuals or groups. The IRS charity status resides with the BSA and its local councils, not the Packs and Troops.
Listed here are some local companies who currently support NCAC through employee matching gift or volunteer hour programs:
