Summer 2021: Are You Ready for Adventure?

While this year has certainly been filled with challenges, we’re ready for a summer filled with family adventures and fun. Explore the many online and outdoor programs we’re offering to scouts and their families. Choose your program and start your summer adventure!

  • District Day & Twilight Camps: Discover some fun in Day Camp’s Weird Science labs! Conducted by volunteers from the local area, each district’s day camps offer a variety of different activities to allow campers to experience outdoor programming around the camp’s theme. Most camp’s activities include STEM, nature, shooting sports, games, and possibly aquatics.
  • Camp Snyder: Get ready for a Space Adventure at Camp Snyder! Choose a camp format that suits you: Day Camp or Resident Weekend.
  • Camps PMI & Ross: Go for the gold at the Magic Olympics! Pick a week at Goshen Scout Reservation’s dedicated overnight Webelos Camps.
  • Goshen Scout Reservation: Choose the camp that best suites your unit – whether that’s program-oriented Camp Olmsted, traditional Camp Bowman, or Goshen’s specialty camp, Camp Marriott. There are programs for new Scouts, older Scouts, and all Scouts in between.
  • Camp Catoctin BSA: Francis Scott Key District’s entirely volunteer-run resident camp operates one week a year. In addition to standard camp program, we excel in offering unusual merit badge programs with our experienced subject matter experts. Previously known at Camp Airy BSA.
  • Provisional Camp at Goshen Scout Reservation: Can’t make it to camp with your Troop or Crew? Go to camp on your own or with a group of your friends.
  • Scout Specialty Week at Camp Snyder: New in 2021! Attend on your own, with your unit, or with your friends and work on some specialty merit badges at some of the unique Camp Snyder facilities, including Michael’s Woodshop, Sally’s STEM Shack, and more.
  • Lenhok’sin High Adventure: Hit the Trail – whether by foot or by boat with our local High Adventure base. Your unit can backpack the trails of Goshen, visit the peaks and stop at our outposts for a variety of adventure activities. Or paddle down the James River on our Canoe Trek. For ages 13 and up.
  • High Adventure Base Trips: Take the trip of a lifetime with the NCAC High Adventure Committee’s trips to National High Adventure Bases of Philmont, Seabase, and Northern Tier. The logistics are planned so you can focus on the fun! For individuals and groups. Ages 14 and up (13 with criteria).
  • GOAT: The Goshen Order of the Arrow Trail crew is a two week program for Order of the Arrow youth hosted at Lenhok’sin High Adventure. Ages 14 and up.
  • Join Camp Staff – Be on camp staff at your favorite camp for this summer, whether that’s a Goshen camp or at Camp Snyder.
  • Ranger Experience: Goshen Scout Reservation’s resident camp Venturing program prepares Venturers for High Adventure and provides opportunities to work toward Venturing’s Ranger Award, all while they have fun in the beautiful outdoors of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

  • Family Camping Fun: Come enjoy family fun at Goshen Scout Reservation over Labor Day Weekend!
  • Summertime Family Camping Patch: Aspire to get outside and go camping with your family. 
  • Sing-a-long Campfire: Join us for NCAC’s second all-council Sing-a-long Campfire on August 29th!
  • Court of Honor: Join us as we honor Council and District Scouters and Scouts for their achievements of the Silver Beaver and NCAC Lifetime Achievement Award.
  • STEM-a-THON: An extravaganza on September 5–7.  Have fun with Science Technology Engineering and Math. 
  • STEM@Home Career Nights: Learn from professionals about future career opportunities in STEM.
  • Why? Wednesdays: Learn about science or try out an experiment.
  • STEM@Home Nova Event: Work on Nova Awards from the comfort of your home!
  • STEM: Scouts are invited to pre-STEMaTHON sessions to help you earn the Engineering Merit Badge.
  • STEM Scouts Information Session: Did you know that BSA has a program for youth grades 3-8 with STEM activities that can be shipped to your own home?
