It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Snowden, our Director of Camp Snyder. Mike passed away in his sleep on August 19, 2018.
As those who had the privilege of getting to know him will tell you, he was a uniquely warm and kind individual who also possessed a drive to succeed in all that he did. In our Council, he made a lasting mark with an energetic push to engage the full potential of Camp Snyder and create a superior experience for all those he hosted there.
On Sunday, September 23rd, we will be hosting a memorial service for Michael at Camp Snyder, beginning at 4PM in the dining hall. This service is to celebrate Michael’s life, specifically amongst all his scouting family. Please do spread the word to any/all that are interested on the professional and volunteer side. Also, if you or anyone that you speak with has photos of Michael to share, please email to Rashid Abdullah at abdulrashid.abdullah@muslimscouting.org as he will be putting together a slideshow for the event.
