Powhatan District honors the memory of a lifelong Scout and prolific contributor to the cause of Scouting. Walter E. (Wally) Krupkowski passed away June 21st, 2018.
Wally, a Scout in his youth and a retired Navy veteran, served Powhatan District as a Cub Master, Assistant Scoutmaster, Unit Commissioner, Cub Scout Roundtable Commissioner and District Day Camp volunteer. He was a key player in establishing Cub Scout Pack 340 at Dogwood Elementary School where he served as a Den Leader, Cubmaster and Committee member.
From 2006 to 2009 Wally served as Cub Scout Round Table Commissioner where he shared his knowledge and enthusiasm with volunteer leaders. He served as a staff member at Powhatan’s Cub Scout Day camp for four years and brought his signature unbridled enthusiasm to that role.
Despite his struggle with brain tumors in recent years, he remained active in scouting, serving as an Assistant Scout Master for Troop 1257, and as a Unit Commissioner. Wally was Wood Badge trained, earned his Commissioner’s Arrowhead award, and in 2017 the Order of the Arrow Vigil Award, Scouting highest honor for cheerful service.
Please join us in honoring the contributions of this lifelong participant in the Scouting program.
