Dear Patuxent Scouter,

Efforts are underway to reregister the members of the Patuxent District Committee, Commissioners and Merit Badge Counselors.

Giving leadership to the reregistration process is Gene Eplee who is handing the reregistration of the District Committee, Mark Adams-Commissioners and Mary Pat DonalsMerit Badge Counselors

If you plan to reregister as a District Committee member, unit commissioner or merit badge counselor contact the person listed above to let them know your status. You should be registered in all the positions that you will be involved with in 2018.

Remember in order to reregister in any position your YPT must be current and should not expire before May 2018.  There is no registration fee for Merit Badge Counselors, however any adult Scouter who is registered as a District Committee member or unit commissioner must be paid either with a unit or at the District Level for their respective position.

UPDATE – Upper Marlboro Restaurant Car Crash Interrupted Patuxent Key Three

My fellow Scouters,

Earlier today we learned that Patuxent District Commissioner Isaiah Pugh died of injuries sustained in a vehicular incident last week while he was engaging in his Scouting duties. Isiah was a Scouter of the finest quality.  Fittingly, Isaiah’s final words were about Scouting, acording to Patuxent District Chair Judge Nichols.

Please share this with any of your Scouters or units who knew him.

It is possible given the high profile of this crash that you will get media inquiries; if so please pass them to Aaron Chusid or Daniel Hirsch.

We have lost one of our own today. The campfire burns a little dimmer with him gone, but the flames are warmer for the time we spent with him.

UPDATE – Upper Marlboro Restaurant Car Crash Interrupted Patuxent Key Three

Judge Nichols (chairman), Isiah Pugh (District Commission) and Carlos Salazar were having the monthly Key 3 Meeting at a local restaurant (Top of the Hill) in Upper Marlboro on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 when the meeting was interrupted by a women who drove her vehicle into the establishment without stopping.

Needless to say that she brought the house down on top of all the patrons.  Judge Nichols found himself of the bottom of the pile so to speak with Isiah on top of him and the table on top of them both.  Debris from this accident struck Carlos as well.

Isiah was among the seven injured transported by Prince George’s County Fire/EMS emergency crews.

Please keep the Pugh family in you prayers as well as the others involved in the accident yesterday..

Cards and letter for Isiah may be sent to:
