From the National Capital Area Council of the cancellation of summer camp activities for 2020
Since we began Scouting At Home two months ago, our team has been sending you these weekly emails to keep you up to date with the impact of COVID-19 on local Scouting programs. Today we are saddened to inform you that NCAC’s board of directors voted last night to cancel our 2020 summer camp programs. Please watch this message from Scout Executive Craig Poland about how this decision was made and what comes next.
But just because camp is closed doesn’t mean that Scouting stops! We have assembled a team of volunteers who are designing a fun, exciting alternative program that will provide advancement opportunities for your Scouts. More information on these programs will be coming soon.
We are also continuing to develop resources for your Scouting At Home programs. Check out this info about new programs for Cub Scouts, digital tools, and most exciting of all our Capital Camp-In on Memorial Day Weekend!
