Join Us for A Global Day of Unity – May 5

In this time of uncertainty, there’s a fundamental truth that gives us hope – that together we can do extraordinary things. Over the past few weeks and months, the entire world has been coming together to stand up, help out, give back, and heal, and National Capital Area Scouts are leading the way. Whether that’s through donations to community organizations, celebrating doctors and nurses, or reaching out to a neighbor to help with groceries, generosity has been helping the entire world get through this global pandemic. Together.

May 5, National Capital Area Council is participating in #GivingTuesdayNow, a global day of unity and giving. We’ll also be hosting our first ever NCAC Virtual Campfire at 7pm on Facebook Live! As you know, here at NCAC Scouting has continued with online merit badge classes, virtual unit meetings and daily good turns everywhere in the D.C. Metro Region. The foundations of Scouting- developing academic skills, self-confidence, ethics, leadership and citizenship, trying new things and providing service to others are now more valuable than ever. As NCAC navigates the impact of the pandemic on our organization, one thing remains unchanged, our youth need and deserve Scouting programs to stay available and to stay strong.

But we can’t do this without you!

NCAC is excited to announce a special donor match in recognition of #GivingTuesdayNow. All donations made to Friends of Scouting will be matched dollar for dollar up to $20,000 for camperships. This match funding will allow financially burdened families the opportunity to send their Scouts to summer camp! Not only do we need your support, we need your help to spread the word. Please tell your friends and family why you believe in our work and encourage them to support us too! Remember, mark your calendar for 7pm tomorrow and join us at: https://www.facebook.com/events/700708750701735 for our Virtual Campfire with special guests, singalongs and skits from local Scouts!

Join the movement tomorrow May 5, 2020 and visit https://www.ncacbsa.org/giving-tuesday-now/ to learn about all the ways you can participate in #GivingTuesdayNow. Thank you for being a part of the NCAC Family!

Yours in Scouting,
