Looking for a host family for an exchange student
May 29, 2019
I am from the Aspect Foundation, an international student exchange non-profit. I am writing to you with a bit of an unusual question: I am trying to find a host family for one of our exchange students from Brazil who will be coming to study in the United States for the 2019-2020 school year. Luca is very interested in Scouting, so I was hoping that you might have some suggestions on how I could reach out to the interested community in Germantown, MD at a Germantown, MD high school in order to find a host family for him that would match his interest.
Luca is a 15 year old boy from Brazil who will be coming to study in the United States for the 2019-2020 school year. He loves the United States and loves meeting new people, places and cultures. Luca greatly enjoys being part of the Boy Scouts in his hometown, and he also likes basketball, soccer, photography and spending time with family. He hopes to become a lawyer when he grows up, so he is excited to have the chance to perfect his English! Luca’s parents describe him as disciplined, and organized. He is a good student with good grades, who enjoys history and geography.
We have a very brief profile set up for Luca here:
If anyone in the community is potentially interested in hosting him, we ask that they please fill out an inquiry. Once a family has been screened, they can view Luca’s full application along with his pictures. In the meantime, they can already read Luca’s letter on his public profile.
Please don’t hesitate to let me know if you or someone in your community has any further questions about hosting Luca or about the general idea of hosting a foreign exchange student. You can reach me by phone at 800-879-6884 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. The Aspect Foundation has been promoting cross-cultural engagement through study abroad for 30 years.
Thank you very much for your help. I greatly appreciate it.
