Scouts BSA

Scouts BSA (formerly called Boy Scouts), is available to youth — boys and girls — who have earned the Arrow of Light  rank and are at least 10 years old or have completed the fifth grade and are at least 10, or who are 11, but not yet 18 years old. The program achieves the BSA’s objectives of developing character, citizenship and personal fitness. Learn more about Scouts BSA.

“Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops” Syllabus
The ILST syllabus in the form of a facilitator guide was published Dec 2017 with minor modifications Jul 2018.  https://www.scouting.org/training/youth/
The ILST syllabus should help scouts and leaders deliver a better course.  Anytime a new PLC is elected, the new PLC members should attend a unit presentation of this course before or soon after assuming their new responsibilities.  See the 2018-12 Scout Roundtable for more information and presentation templates.
