Occoquan District provides Scouting services to the youth and adults of Eastern Prince William County in Northern Virginia in the Virginia South field service area in the National Capital Area Council. It is the home to 81 scouting units, serving over 2100 youth in the areas of Dumfries, Dale City, Lake Ridge, Occoquan, Triangle, Woodbridge, and Montclair in Eastern Prince William County, Virginia. This site serves to provide accurate, on-time information for both Scouting families and those interested to join and learn more about Scouting.
The Silver Beaver is the Council's highest honor for distinguished service to the Council. An awardees contributions can be felt not only by the District, but also by the Council. The Council only awards approximately 20 medals among its approximately 20 thousand person volunteer core every year.
It is my honor to inform Occoquan District that Stu Sanford of Ship 7916 has been awarded this prestigious honor.

Family Scouting Early Adopter Starts Jan 15
A full plan and guide for the Family Scouting expansion is set to roll-out for the 2018 program year, but for those who just can’t wait to get started BSA has released an Early Adopter Program starting January 15, 2018.
