Welcome to the NCAC’s Jewish Committee on Scouting. The National Capital Area Council’s (NCAC) Jewish Committee on Scouting (JCOS) offers a variety of activities to benefit Scouts of the Jewish faith. Since its founding, our committee has conducted Friday evening services at Goshen summer camp and a Merit Badge and Religious Awards Fair, organized Sabbath services during Boy Scout Week, conducted a Pinewood Derby and Space Derby for Cub Scouts, and arranged a Memorial Day Weekend Jewish Camporee. We also assist Scouts to earn recognition in the Maccabee, Aleph, Ner Tamid, and Etz Chaim religious awards program. Adult Scout leaders also have the opportunity to be recognized for their efforts.
The NCAC JCOS is part of the Northeast Region of the National Committee on Jewish Scouting, and participates in many activities alongside other Jewish troops in our region, and across the nation.
