A camporee is many things – camping fun for Scouts, the thumping of hundreds of feet on the way to an evening campfire, and the blue smoke from fires cooking stew or ham and eggs. It’s the patter of rain on many tents at night. It’s the ripple of windblown flags in the morning sun. It’s catching the idea of teamwork in a patrol. A camporee can be a perfect showplace for the Scouting program and, therefore, go far beyond just being a gathering of Scouts. This is what we aim to achieve during the NCAC’s Goshen@50 Camporee.
The Goshen@50 camporee will honor the proud traditions and legacy of the Goshen experience as well as those individuals who contributed in the making of that legacy. Above all else, to experience a unique, fun-filled Scouting event not to be rivaled for another fifty years
The Goshen@50 Camporee, held over the Memorial Day Weekend has released the Participant Program Guides. Each guide provides the Scouts, adult leaders and families with the information they will need as they prepare to join the hundreds of other Scouting Units from National Capital Area Council at this event.
Please take some time to read the guide, share it with your Unit and Youth leaders.
