Scout Nova Workshops at Human 2 Mars Summit

The Human to Mars Summit will be at The George Washington University, Washington D.C. from May 17-19, 2016 and has a captivating speaker panel including Bill Nye the Science Guy, Astronaut Buzz Aldrin, NASA Administrator Charles Bolden, author of The Martian Andy Weir, educational entertainer Janet Ivey and more. Specifically on May 17, 2016 from 5PM – 7:30PM, H2M is holding workshops for Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts to earn their Nova Awards!

Cub Scouts Nova: Out of this World! 
Program Focus: You’ll Design Your Own Mars Colony, where we will use art and draw our future dwelling spaces on Mars,  Dance and Discover Revolution and Rotation and how planets move in space and around the suns.

Nova Award Requirements: Cub Scouts complete 3B, 3D and 4.

Pre-requisites are not required to attend, however if you’d like to complete the Nova Award, you should complete requirements 1&2! You can find the Nova Award requirements here.

Can siblings and friends attend?: Of course! The Out of this World program is perfect for all elementary-age youth. Please pre-register (even though it is free) so we can estimate material needs.
Boy Scout Nova: Shoot!  

Boy Scouts * We will also have Space Exploration Counselors at H2M available to help you with your requirements and sign blue cards.

Uniform: Scouts should come in uniform. 

Food: A 25 minute break will be included after the workshop and before the panel so scouts and families can grab a bite to eat. GWU cafeteria’s are closeby.  

Location: Marvin Center, Room 309, GWU. The address is: 800 21st St NW, Washington, DC 20052. Across from Lisner Auditorium. 

Hours: The workshops will begin at 5PM and run through 6:35PM. The H2M panels resume at 7PM. 

Registration Fee: none. This event is free thanks to H2M and sponsors!
