The governors of Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and the mayor of Washington, D.C., have issued a call to action to “feed the hungry and heal the planet” as part of this year’s Day to Serve, happening September 11 through October 10.
Day to Serve is a unique annual initiative that transcends politics and religious differences. It unites people of all faiths, races, cultures, and backgrounds with the shared goal of helping those in need and improving the communities where we live.
To participate you only need to do two things:
- Take part in a service project. Your unit can do your own or join one of the many happening in our area.
- After you finish the project, let us know what you did and how many people were involved.
Everyone who participates will get a Day to Serve 2015 patch, and get to share in the pride of being part of the positive change in our community. Looking for ideas for a service project? Here are some suggestions.
Looking for more service opportunities? Get ready, because Scouting For Food is right around the corner!
