 Webelos – Earth Rocks Adventure & Nova Down & Dirty

GMU in Fairfax, VA

This event consists of 2.5 hour labs for 4th & 5th grade girls and boys and includes tours of the GMU Paleontology and Physical Sciences Labs.
Webelos may earn all of Earth Rocks (except #2) and part of the Down & Dirty Nova. This 2.5 hour Geology STEM event is in conjunction with the 25th Annual Gem, Mineral & Fossil Show – sponsored by The GMU Department of Atmospheric, Oceanic and Earth Sciences and The Northern Virginia Mineral Club.

Geology Merit Badge at GMU

This 2.5 hour Geology STEM event is in conjunction with the 25th Annual Gem, Mineral & Fossil Show – sponsored by The GMU Department of Atmospheric, Oceanic and Earth Sciences and The Northern Virginia Mineral Club. This event is a great springboard into BSA Geology and STEM awards.
Boy Scouts may earn requirements 1-4 and 5a or 5d of the Geology Merit Badge. Register here.

STEM Nova Day at Microsoft

Microsoft Technology Center in Reston, VA

 This is an all day event for Cubs, Boy Scouts and Venture Scouts to attend hands-on classes and technical discussions pertaining to Nova Awards, STEM Adventures, STEM Merit Badges,  or STEM Explorations. Each participant of this STEM event may select two classes during registration (one for AM and one for PM). This event is modeled after the STEM Nova Event that was held at Microsoft Chevy Chase on 2/11/17. Registration is here.

Cub Scouts’ Tech Talk! Nova

Sundays & Thursdays at Microsoft Tysons

Microsoft has worked with Boy Scouts of America to design curriculae that meet Cub Scout advancement requirements. Microsoft provides this fun and educational service for free. The registration cost goes to support STEM Scouting programs – specifically the Microsoft STEM Day, and to provide scholarships (including transportation) for Explorers and Scouts who need assistance to attend these STEM events. If you know a scout or scouts who need the fee waived, please email education@ncacbsa.org

Scouts attending the workshop at Microsoft Tyson’s will need the following agreement: Microsoft Tyson’s Participation Agreement
