We are pleased to announce that Sue Hart Hogan
is the new Field Director for the Virginia Central Service Area of National
Capital Area Council, BSA.
has been with NCAC since 2007. She started as a District Executive in the
former Tayac District and has served as Colonial District Senior District Executive,
Goose Creek District Director and most recently as Field Director for Mountain
West Service Area. Sue is grateful for the experience and guidance the
volunteers and her fellow professionals in the western portions of the Council have
provided. She is very excited about returning to the Virginia Central Service Area
to support the volunteers and professionals in Fairfax County.
We are pleased to announce that Roger Chatell is the new Field
Director for the Mountain West Service Area of National Capital Area Council,
Since September, Roger has served the
volunteers of Powhatan District, serving Scouting in northwestern Fairfax
County. Roger came to NCAC as an experienced field director who provided
leadership to half of his former council’s districts. He also led their Family
Friends of Scouting campaign, a role he has repeated for the past several
months in NCAC. Because of his affinity for Powhatan District, Roger requested
that he continue to directly serve Powhatan for the time being as he engages
the district leadership in the process of finding a strong, customer-service
oriented professional who will serve the district well for a number of years.
This will provide the district with the stability of service it deserves.
As field director, Roger will also provide leadership
to the professional Scouters serving Goose Creek, Catoctin Mountain, Sully and
Appalachian Trails Districts; he looks forward to working with all of the volunteers
who deliver the program to more than 12,000 Scouts in Frederick County and

at Goshen Scout Reservation and program director at Camp Ross. Mychal was not involved in Scouting as a
youth but has enjoyed his time at Goshen over the past two summers.
Mychal is originally from Orange County,
Virginia, and he graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor’s
degree in English. He enjoys hiking, biking, reading and going to the movies.
