Goshen Scout Reservation is proud to offer its Provisional Programs to members of the National Capital Area Council and all other Scouts interested in great summer camp programs.
Resident Camp at Camp Olmsted
Scouts who have found that their units are not signed up for camp, cannot attend with their Troop, or Scouts who want to attend a second week are eligible to attend Camp Olmsted as a Provisional camper. The Scouts are grouped together in a Provisional Troop and have the opportunity to experience all the activities that Camp Olmsted has to offer. Leadership is provided by the camp and is a combination of trained adults and youth camp staff members whose main purpose is to ensure a safe, exciting, and fun week at camp.
Scouts may attend as many weeks as they want. Participants must be registered Boy Scouts. There is no minimum age requirement.
Provisional Residential Camp is available all six weeks of camp.
For more information on Camp Olmsted's program, please visit the Camp Olmsted webpage and also take a look at the Camp Olmsted Downloads. Feel free to contact the Camp Olmsted Camp Director Jonathan Zimmerman at Camp.Olmsted@gmail.com with program questions.
Need help paying? Apply for a Campership! The deadline for the application is February 28th, 2014. For more information, check out the Camper Aid section of the Schedule & Fees page.
Early Bird Fee Special! All who pay in fully by the Early Bird Deadline will be eligible for a free 2014 Goshen hat! Hats must be picked up by the registrant from the Council office. If you have a really cool District Executive, he or she may pick it up for you if you ask nicely!
Please download the directions below to walk you step-by-step through the registration process.
Email Calicoe Richir, the Goshen Camping Administrator, at Calicoe.Richir@scouting.org with any questions about registration and payments.
High Adventure at Lenhok'sin High Adventure
There will be no high adventure opportunities for provisional scouts for this summer, 2014, at Lenhok'sin High Adventure.
Past opportunities included Lenhok'sin Trail Provisional Camp, in which individual Scouts would spend a week on the Lenhok'sin Trail as part of a provisional Crew, and Civil War Week, which gave Scouts the opportunity to spend a week at the Civil War outpost and experience the life of a Civil War soldier in a typical camp setting.
If these sound like something you'd be interested and would like to see them in the summer of 2015, send an email to Gary Carroll at Gary.Carroll@scouting.org.
Information for Adults
Adults are welcome to participate as volunteers and serve as a Provisional Scoutmaster or to just come with their child and have a good time. For more information, contact Calicoe Richir at Calicoe.Richir@scouting.org or (301) 214 - 9155.
