2013 Friends of Scouting Campaign
The Community FOS Campaign is at 105% of goal with $17,350 pledged/ received year-to-date, including corporate grants. The Family FOS campaign is at 86% of goal with $81,468 pledged/received year-to-date. The total ODD FOS donations is $99k+ or 89% of the $111,500 goal. We hope that the new and exciting community event, to be held September 28th, will put us well over the top for District fundraising and poised to reach JTE Gold.
Nota bene: 99% of all money collected in the NCAC campaign remains in our community for disadvantaged youth and for bonafide Council program infrastructure (camp maintenance and repair, YPT and position-specific training, obligatory background checks, Eagle packets, etc.).
The community event fundraiser this year will be a Scout-Strong 5K Walk/Run Public Benefit, a joint Program and Finance collaboration, on September 28, 2013 at Camp Snyder, 9:00am registration (set-up at 8:00am), race at 10:00am. Monica Lynch is the event director. Please reach out to your employers and other business sponsors for contributions, and to your family and friends to partici- pate in the walk-run.
Endowment Fund and James E. West Fellowship
The Endowment and James E. West Fellowship are designed to help Council meet their obligations shortfall (reaction from BSA membership standards review, federal sequester, and slow economy). This fundraising vehicle can be used to properly recognize individual Scouters, Units, Goshen Bears, Wood Badge Patrols, Families, etc.
Please advise Steve Richardson if you’d like to start a Unit James E. West Fellowship program. Your unit will essentially open and manage an account until $1,000 is reached towards awarding a Fellowship to a worthy individual or organization.
