Calling all unit Religious Emblem Coordinators (REC’s), unit parents, clergy, and anyone interested in knowing more about the God and Country Program and how to deliver the "Duty to God” & a "Scout is Reverent” part of the scouting program. This is an all day training, March 8, 2014, that will give you the information you need to deliver the program yourself or to serve as a resource to answer the questions that come up about religious emblems. Lunch is included and you go home with a thick notebook of resources. Get the registration form or ask questions by email@example.com call 703-765-0855. Register by March 1, 2014.
Special Scout Sunday Protestant Religious Emblems Recognition Service
On Feb. 9, 2014 over 100 people from all over the metro area gathered at Groveton Baptist Church at 4pm to recognize those who had earned their Religious Emblem in 2013. The emblem earners, their mentors, and their counselors were recognized with a special patch. A reception followed the service where awardees were able to have goodies, network with one another, and to interact with the NCAC members of the Protestant Committee.Several members of Pack 888 were part of those recognized. Earn your emblem this year and you will be invited to the 2015 service. NCAC came in 3rdin the nation in the most Protestant Emblems Earned in 2013 (over 500).
The Joint Catholic/Protestant Boy Scout Religious Retreat Coming Soon
All boy scouts and scouters are invited to attend the Religious Retreat Weekend April 25-27. It is in a new location this year in College Park at the Knights of Columbus center. The theme is "Following in His Footsteps”. Scouts of all faiths have attended the retreat in the past and are welcome. To get the full packet of info firstname.lastname@example.org.A whole unit doesn’t need to attend- sent a patrol or just a scout and dad to try it.
