Upcoming Training:

To register for upcoming training sessions, please go to the District Calendar, Month at a Glance, and mouse over the date of the training you wish to take. Then, register. (I will attempt to also mirror those options here below for ease of access.)
  • 9/12/2015 Upcoming C40/C42/C60 training session. 9am to 3pm at MedStar
  • 10/10/2015 Upcoming Scoutmaster Training (S24) 8am Colesville Presbyterian Church
  • 10/24-25/2015 Upcoming Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills (IOLS) (S11) MUST REGISTER 2 weeks prior to event!

Required Training:

Everyone who is registered in a Scout Unit must be completely trained in the position that they are registered for.  If you have not completed the required training for your position you may be dropped from the Unit by National Boy Scouts.
All registered members of a Scout Unit must take:  (All located online at
Youth Protection (for the appropriate program you are in)
Leader Specific Training (for the appropriate program you are in)
Troop Committee Challenge (if you are a committee person for Boy Scouts)
All required Cub Scout Adult Training is on line.
If you are in the Boy Scout Program including Varsity, Venture or Venturing, Se Scout programs, you must attend in person training in addition to the online trainings above to complete your training.
In Person Training: 
Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster Leader Specific Training (formally known as Boy Scout Leader Training)
Varsity, Venture or Venturing Leader Specific
Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) Overnight Camping: Boy Scout Program including Varsity and Venture   must attend.

[1] "Basics" Leader courses completed before January 1, 2010 can still help fulfill the "trained" requirement, but all leaders are encouraged to complete the latest adult leader courses.
[2] Venturing and Ship leaders take Youth Protection Training for Venturing; all others take Youth Protection Training
[3] Go to Enter name of council (NCAC) and BSA ID number to update BSA training record.

Go to your account.  Sign in and click on Training Validation.   If you have taken training that is not listed be sure to contact with copies of your training cards for submission. 
Don't forget to submit an update traing record form !
