     Here is the preliminary information on an exciting event to take place, in Washington on June 18, 2014.  Sponsorship opportunities will be announced soon.  
    This event will support the young people served by the National Capital Area Council, Boy Scouts of America,  the BSA S.T.E.M. initiative and Learning for Life Exploring, a workforce program for youth 14 - 20.

Greetings, DC Scouter !
Your 2014 Spring Camporee Planning Committee reminds you that the final day for Online Registration for your Unit to participate in the Camporee is Friday, April 18th.
After that date, you may still register in-person at our Council's Service Center in Bethesda. Currently, the fee for Packs/Troops/individuals not overnight camping is $10/person (youths & adults). For those units/individuals that are overnight camping, the current fee is $13/person.
 
If you/your Unit waits until your arrival at the site of the Camporee, the fee for non-overnighters is $12/person, and the fee for overnighters is $15/person.
 
We encourage "overnighters" to make every effort to arrive on Friday, April 25th.
Ms. Denise Gibson ( District VC of Programs) will begin Registration at Watkins Park for those Units that have not done so in advance.
 
There will be a Leader's "Cracker Barrel" at 8:30pm on Friday evening. Each Unit should send 1 adult representative to this activity. SPL's are also invited to attend.
 
If you/your Unit will be arriving on Saturday, be advised that Ms. Rhonda Gray, and Commissioner Regina Thomas will begin Registration at 7am for those that haven't done so in advance.
 
The Camporee's "Opening Ceremony" is at 9am on Saturday, April 26th.
Make sure your Unit is in place for that........on time !!
Cub Scout & Boy Scout programs will begin at 9:20am
 
*For the sake of being prepared.......be advised that your Unit should plan to bring materials and equipment sufficient for erecting a "dining fly" at your campsite in the event there is precipitation in the weather forecast.
