Schedule:

  • Morning Registration: 7:30am
  • Morning Classes Begin: 8:00am
  • Morning Classes End: 12:00 noon
  • Lunch: 12:00 noon
  • Afternoon Registration: 12:30pm
  • Afternoon Classes Begin: 1:00pm
  • Afternoon Classes End: 5:00pm

Admission:

  1. One properly completed Blue Card (include requirements (by number) on reverse). Leave name and address of counselor blank – that item will be completed during the day.
  2. In addition to the Blue Card, each Scout should bring, for each session, a canned good or dry good to be donated to the area food bank.
  3. Each Scout SHOULD READ THE MERIT BADGE BOOK BEFORE COMING TO THE SESSION AND BE PREPARED TO DISCUSS/EXPLAIN/DO WHAT THE REQUIREMENTS CALL FOR.
  4. SCOUTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO BRING A SIGNED STATEMENT FROM A MERIT BADGE COUNSELOR STATING THAT ALL THE PRE-REQUISITES HAVE BEEN COMPLETED or have the back of the blue card signed and initialed by the Merit Badge Counselor.. Pre-requisite check sheets for each Citizenship merit badge are included as the last pages in this document. Please use them.
  5. THIS IS A UNIFORMED EVENT: shirts tucked in.
  6. Scouts should bring: paper, pencil, pen, and merit badge book.

Lunch:

Lunch tickets are available for purchase from Rich Golling (on the day of the event ONLY) for five dollars ($5).   A lunch ticket will get each scout three slices of pizza and a drink.

Community: Requirements 3a, 3b, 4a, 4b, 7, and 8.

  • For #6: Scout must contact Dr. Vaughn at stevendvaughn@aol.com for approval.
    • Have the Subject line of the e-mail read: Nation MB approval request- Scout’s name/Troop Number.
      pre-populated, replace “Scout’s name/Troop Number” with the interested scout’s name and their troop number designation

Registration Details:

  • REGISTRATION IS LIMITED TO 30 SCOUTS PER SESSION.This will be strictly enforced.
  • EACH UNIT SHOULD ASSIGN A SINGLE POINT OF CONTACT. Only one person from the unit will be recognized as the official point of contact.
  • REGISTRATION WILL BE ACCEPTED BY E-MAIL ONLY.
  • The registration DEADLINE is APRIL 30, 2017.

 

Registration Steps:

  1. E-mail Mitch Mitchell at citizenshipbadge@gmail.com requesting to be POC for the Troop.
    • Include a phone number that he may contact you at in case of emergency.
    • Also provide an estimate as to how many Scouts may purchase lunch tickets.
    • Use the following subject line to avoid being deleted as spam:Subject: TROOP Your Number CITIZENSHIP MERIT BADGE INFO
      pre-populated. Replace “Your Number” with your troop’s number designation
  2. Mitch will e-mail back a spreadsheet to the POC to be filled-in and edited for any additions/corrections.
  3. E-mails from anyone except the POC will be returned referencing the POC as the contact.
