The Ten Commandments Hike will be an opportunity to introduce participants to a variety of faiths and houses of worship. It will be an interfaith and cross-cultural event. Scouts should gain a better understanding of the religions of fellow Scouts and members of our community and acquire a greater acceptance for diverse religious beliefs in our community. The Hike will be 3.7 to 5.0 miles depending on your Unit’s starting location. Your Unit will be assigned one of the five specific houses of worship location for you Unit to start. The route will take us to the various houses of worship. Check-in will begin at 8:30 AM and the hike will end by 2:00 PM. The cost will be $4.00, which includes a Zekiah District Ten Commandments Hike patch. Scouts, leaders, and parents will need to carry their sack lunches and beverages with them in their backpacks.
