Livingstone Inaugural Invitational Hike - Saturday, November 2, 2013
(NCAC Boy & Girl Scout Units, Adults and Guests ONLY)
*Invitational Hike Sponsored by Madame Tussauds Wax Museum*
IMPORTANT NOTE: Review all material prior to registering for this hike.
- DO NOT click on any of the "Related Products" listed above at this time. You'll do that after clicking on "Register for this event".
- When ready simply click the "Register for this event" link above. You will be asked for your unit contact's information, which time you would like to hike, how many medals you feel will be earned and purchased, and how many hikers you are registering. Hiker's names are not required.
This event is primarily for units that signed up for the opening Inaugural Hike on Memorial Day Weekend in May 2013 and had some Scouts or adults that could not make that weekend, or have recruited new people since. Some of the original 3,111 participants did not show up or did not purchase the hike medal, This is a second chance to give Scouts a similar experience of the Inaugural Weekend, and a chance to earn one of the few hundred restricted numbered Inaugural Medals that are left.
IF YOU HAVE ALREADY EARNED & PURCHASED THE INAUGURAL MEDAL YOU
MAY REGISTER TO HIKE BUT WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PURCHASE ANOTHER INAUGURAL MEDAL
ALL MEDALS ARE AN ADDITIONAL COST OF $10
However, if you have already done the Inaugural hike you MAY sign up for the Livingstone Hike and do the "new version" with different questions and earn the new PERMANENT medal. Or you may sign up for the hike and choose not to purchase a medal. Those registering for the new Livingstone Hike will be earning the new (quite different) Livingstone medal.
Registration to participate is $10 per person for any Invitational Hike and all hike medals are an additional $10. (hike medals are purchased at the successful completion of the hike) Registration fees are not refundable but they are transferable. As long as the registration site is up in a particular category, you can still register people. You may also register the day of the event, as space allows. Please try to register as a Unit - Troop, Pack, Crew, etc. and arrive at the times you registered to hike.
Upon SUCCESSFUL completion of the hike, and not getting more than 3 answers incorrect, you are eligible to earn and purchase the medal. These are EARNED MEDALS - NOT participation medals. You must earn the right to purchase them. If you have more than 3 incorrect answers, you may go back and change your answers that day and re-submit your card. If successful, you may purchase the medals (one-per-person ONLY) for $10 each, and the special patches for $5 each. Participants or their leaders should be prepared to pay at the end of the hike at the Wax Museum for the items earned that day. Cash, checks or credit cards will be accepted ($30 minimum on credit cards). ALL items will be available at the end of the hike. Hikers must go to 10th Street side of building to complete the hike.
