Cub Scout Roundtable and Klondike Derby

Posted By Theresa Garcia-Parks, Monday, January 12, 2015
Happy New Year!

It's time again for Cub Scout Roundtable! Also continue to the end of this email for information about the upcoming Potomac District Klondike Derby for Webelos and Boy Scouts.

Join us this Wednesday, January 14 at 7:30 p.m. at The People's Community Baptist Church,  31 Norwood Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20905

Join us for food, fun and helpful tips to really make your Pack shine! This month's theme is:

Resourcefulness/Litter to Glitter

For the next 6 months, we'll be going over the upcoming changes to the Cub Scout Program. The new program takes effect on June 1, 2015.

This month, which is the first of the series, we'll cover Program Support for Den Leaders. Instead of a breakout session, we'll have everyone in the together so that everyone in each pack receives the same information. I've attached a copy of the handout for reference.

And in case you can't join us this Wednesday, I've attached Baloo's Bugle or here is a link for this month:

Please pass this information along to your den leaders and assistant den leaders as well as Cubmasters. Let them know that they are welcome to join us every month as well! Everyone who attends is eligible for our door prize drawing!

Klondike Derby
Also, according to the Potomac District, there are still about 7 or 8 campsites left for Klondike Derby (each campsite holds 11 people) next weekend. I've attached a copy of the packet in case your Webelos would like to attend.
If you are interested in attending for the day, Webelos can visit from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 15 starting at 12:30 p.m. and pay a $5 registration fee at the Nature center. If interested in camping overnight, contact the event leader, Earl or Linda Smith at (301) 530-5007 or Note that it's too late to mail the registration to council.

White Oak District Cub Scout Roundtable Wednesday September 11th 7:30pm – 8:45pm

Posted By Cub Scout Roundtable, Monday, September 09, 2013

Mark your calendars!

It’s almost time for the White Oak District Cub Scout Roundtable

  Wednesday September 11th

7:30pm – 8:45pm

At the People’s Community Baptist Church

31 Norwood Road Silver Spring MD

Please note – our hosts at the People’s Community Baptist Church have requested that NO FOOD OR DRINK be allowed in our meeting area. Please leave any and all food or drink in your vehicle. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Hey there all you White Oak Cubbers!

Bring a fellow Cubber and join us as we look ahead to the October Cub program based on the Core Value of "Responsibility” enhanced by the theme of "Down on the Farm”. We’ll have tips and tricks to make your Pack and Den meetings a snap!

Be sure your Pack Webelos Leaders and Camping Chairs attend as we present a special breakout session for the October 12th Webelos Weekend with information about registration, preparation and participation. This is the prime opportunity to get answers to all your questions!

Mark and Theresa Garcia-Parks are working on some helpful Leader breakout sessions. And I do believe that Zen Master of everything Cubbing, Jeep, will be back with an informative, entertaining and topical lesson for us all!

We’ll have the usual fun, fellowship, games, prizes and important information on the upcoming Tiger Hunt, Leader Training and other activities and events you and your Cubs don’t want to miss.   We’ve got a jam-packed agenda and plan to start promptly at 7:30pm. Please arrive a bit early so you can sign in, get a name badge, grab a Resource Packet, and meet and greet your fellow Cubbers.

We look forward to seeing you there – and bring those Webelos leaders and Camping Committee Chairs for some really important information!
