The Northern Virginia Mineral Club is proud to announce the 22nd Annual Gem Mineral & Fossil Show at George Mason University on November 23 & 24, 2013.


NORTHERN VIRGINIA MINERAL CLUB’S

22nd Annual Gem, Mineral and Fossil Show

November 23rd and 24th, 2013.

The HUB (SUB II), George Mason University, Fairfax, VA

Saturday 10:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. and

Sunday 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M   

Silent Auction on Sunday Afternoon

Free parking for the show - Lot A. (Nottaway River Lane)

Courtesy Shuttle from Lot A to the Hub.

This interactive, educational event is co-sponsored by

GMU's Department of Atmospheric, Oceanic and Earth Sciences.

More than 20 dealers will have gems, minerals, fossils, meteorites and crystals for sale.  Enjoy demonstrations, exhibits, and door prizes, or get more information about specimens from your own collection.


Those under 18 can dig for free specimens in the kid’s mini-mines and Miocene fossil area and test their knowledge through quizzes and puzzles.


Admission is $5.00 for adults; $3.00 for Senior Citizens (65+) and Teens (13-17).
Admission is Free for Children (12 and under), Scouts in Uniform,

and GMU Students with ID.

The Northern Virginia Mineral Club, Inc., is a long standing non-profit organization that was formed to provide all persons interested in Earth Science (Geology, Mineralogy, & Paleontology) and Lapidary Arts the opportunity to increase their knowledge and broaden their interests through a variety of learning and collecting activities.

The club holds regular monthly meetings (4th Monday of the month), sponsors presentations and organizes collecting field trips in additional to holding an annual show.
