STEM Career Day: Solving the Worlds Problems

The NCAC STEM committee is planning a big event at the University of Maryland – a STEM Career Day, for older youth, grades 7-11. The theme is “Solve the World’s Problems” based on the UMD motto in their AGNR department (see www.agnr.umd.edu). Registration will be open on Feb 20 from this page 

 

Webelos – Earth Rocks Adventure & Nova Down & Dirty

GMU in Fairfax, VA

This event consists of 3 hour labs for 4th & 5th grade girls and boys and includes tours of the GMU Paleontology and Physical Sciences Labs.
Webelos may earn all of Earth Rocks (except #2) and part of the Down & Dirty Nova. This 3 hour Geology STEM event is sponsored by Dr. Julia Nord and The GMU Department of Atmospheric, Oceanic and Earth Sciences.

Geology Merit Badge at GMU

This 3 hour Geology STEM event is open to girls and boys from 6th grade to high school. This Geology STEM event  is sponsored by The GMU Department of Atmospheric, Oceanic and Earth Sciences.
Scouts BSA may earn requirements 1-4 and 5a or 5d of the Geology Merit Badge. Register here.

This will be the 5th annual STEM University at NCAC! Last year, there were classes for youth and adults, as well as an Einstein Science Fair!
